March 2026: Sport
It’s back.
My heart, my heart. Kickstart my heart.
Baseball season. March Madness. War in Iran. I guess the war technically started in February, but it was the last day of the month, and the final draft of this blog had already been submitted. Things were all good just a month ago. Okay. They weren’t that good. It’s been a rough year, but really its been a rough few years.
Few years?
Yeah. Harambe was killed in 2016, when the timeline broke, and that was just a few years ago.
More like a decade.
A deca—what the fu—are you sure?
Without a doubt. No cap.
Damn. Then, it has been a rough decade. We tend to view the past favorably, which has to make you wonder how bad it would have to get for us to look back at the past decade with any sense of longing. The MAGA era has not been great, and the Sleepy Joe era wasn’t much better. It inspired Trump 2.0, so thanks for that.
“Beware the Ides of March.”
Turn your worry into worship. Turn that frown upside down. If you are reading this, you are blessed. I am blessed. Count those blessings and focus on what you can control, like your attitude.
Some people have no control over that, bro.
SHUT THE FUH UH!
The Marathon
My wife ran her first L.A. Marathon earlier this month. It was her first marathon. Who the hell thinks of running that far? I understand it is a challenge, but these people think it’s fun. Not everyone made it to the finish line on March 8th, but my wife did after five and a half hours. Amazing stuff.
Oscar
I watched the entire Academy Awards this year because I was invested in the success of two movies: Sinners and One Battle After Another. I didn’t expect to like either movies as much as I did. I figured they would be good, but they blew past my expectations. I was surprised that Sinners didn’t walk away with a couple more Oscars, but I thought it deserved the Best Original Screenplay, and I thought One Battle After Another was robbed of an award (Best Supporting Actress).
Beisbol
Did you know that the Dodgers won the World Series last season? It was their second title in as many years. Back-to-back champs! I completely slept on my annual season preview article, so I guess it’s not an annual thing anymore. What would you expect me to say? The Dodgers are the preseason favorites to repeat again, but that doesn’t mean it’ll happen. It takes half a damn year to play the entirety of the MLB season, and a lot can happen. This is the most talented roster I’ve ever seen the Dodgers put together, but I’ve said that before about Dodgers’ teams that fell short of winning it all. There are no guarantees, but I believe the Dodgers will make the playoffs one way or another this season. Anything goes once you’re in the dance. Other playoff bound teams in 2026:
National League
NY Mets
Atlanta Braves
Philadelphia Phillies
Milwaukie Brewers
Chicago Cubs
American League
Seattle Mariners
Texas Rangers
Toronto Blue Jays
NY Yankees
Detroit Tigers
Kansas City Royals
I don’t know a thing about the Royals, but I’ve always rooted for them because I liked their uniforms when I was a kid and Bo Jackson played for them. He was my favorite Raider (shoutout Lyle Alzado).
It is a strange time to be a Dodgers fan. For most of my life, the team has lost. They went 32 years before winning during the pandemic, and all the haters blew that title off. Now, those same haters want to see the team fall because they have been winning. They hate them because they’re good. It’s awesome!
Pray
There’s a lot of negativity in our world, always has been. The Devil is everywhere, but more powerful than that evil energy is the energy of God’s love. Spread that love, folks. Lock it in with prayer.
Saturday Night Special
I dropped episodes 86 through 89 this month. Who cares, right?
The train keeps on rolling for SNS even if the demand doesn’t exist. We keep on putting them out—me and my producer, Rufio—because I look less crazy doing this than I do just talking to myself.
